The Weekly Pulls November 2nd, 2011

Hey, folks. This upload is a little later than I'd like, but the flu kept me out of commission. Better late than never, though, right? I reviewed 13 books this week. Hope you enjoy!

  1. Action Comics #3: I am also dropping this one. It is just boring. I was only slightly interested after the first issue and the past 2 have done nothing to keep me reading. As you said, the trade might be worth it, but this has been weak monthly.

Batwing #3: Couldn't agree more! This one is one of my favourites of the relaunch. It is taking a ton of risks with the content, especially with David as a child. It's a risk, but I think it can pay off and redemption is going to be a huge part of this story line.

Detective Comics #3: This one, I see where you are coming from but I won't be dropping it. It certainly isn't wowing me but I am enjoying it.

I didn't read any others, so I'll take your word on everything else :p

When it comes to women in comics, there is nothing wrong with sexual or busty women in them. There are women like that in real life and there is nothing wrong with showing them that way but drawn. As you and others have said, the problem is when that is all they are, or it makes no sense. I said it last week Catwoman wearing lingerie as she does flips and jumps is stupid. My one female friend said "just thinking about that hurts me." There is no reason to it other then "boys reading want to see tits."

However a woman that uses for body to manipulate people and get what she wants. That makes sense, that does happen in reality. I get that, even if I don't agree with it (manipulation in general really).

I have nothing against the female form being drawn, just have it make sense.

I've been told I should check out The Goon. I think I'll run by the store tomorrow and pick it up.
